By the Decision of the Minister of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure Mr. Oleg Butković, the Coordination Body for the deployment of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) was established as an advisory and expert body to prepare, adopt and monitor the implementation of the National program for development and deployment of ITS in road transport and for links with other modes of transport for the period from 2021 to 2025. It is adopted for the goals of encouraging, planning, and monitoring the deployment of ITS in the Republic of Croatia.
The member of the Coordination Body is Prof. Sadko Mandžuka, Head of ITS Department University of Zagreb and President of the scientific-professional association ITS Croatia. Also, Prof. Mandžuka is OJP4Danube Team Leader of ZITS.
The basic tasks of the Coordinating Body are:
- preparation of a proposal for a National program for the development and deployment of ITS in road transport and for connections with other modes of transport for the period from 2021 to 2025,
- preparation of a report on the adopted National program and appropriate measures for its implementation, which is submitted to the European Commission,
- submitting a progress report on the implementation of the National program once a year and submitting it to the European Commission every three years,
- monitoring the implementation of other obligations related to the implementation of Directive 2010/40 / EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 7 July 2010 on a framework for the deployment of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) in road transport and for links with other modes of transport and relevant delegated regulations.
