Course description: Historical overview of aviation development. Aircraft categorization. Structural conceptions of aerodynes. Basic principles of aircraft construction. Aircraft structure. Safe construction methods. Basic structural elements of aircraft and their functions - aircraft wing, aircraft fuselage, aircraft tail surfaces, aircraft landing gear. Aircraft systems and equipment. Aeronautical propulsion systems - propeller-driven propulsion system, jet propulsion system - operating principle, types of engines, major parts and systems, performance, etc. Operating requirements for the choice of aircraft propulsion system.
