Course description: Definition and application of Queueing Systems Theory (QST). The random process (RP): definition, classification, numbering processes, Poisson RP, birth-death RP. General description of Queueing Systems (QS): user, server, queue and serving discipline, Kendall's notation, QS application in real serving situations. Mathematical description of QS: input process, serving process, performance parameters, Little's formula. QS traffic measures. Server capacity and bandwidth definition. Basic Poisson and Non-Poisson QS models: single- and multi-server models. Introduction into QS network (QSN): classification, exponential QSN. QS with obvious serving. Simulation of single-server and multi-server systems, evaluation of PS and MPS performance for changing inputs, different distributions of interarrival times and service times.
