Course description: Mail flows and regulations in international traffic. Mathematical modeling of postal system structure and process. Optimization problems of the postal network. Application of linear, stochastic and integer programming. Simulation modeling of processes in the mail center. Planning a network of post offices in cities. Logistic application of barcoding. RFID shipment tracking systems. Intelligent transportation systems in shipment tracking and fleet management. Functioning of mail under special conditions. Examples of international postal billing and tariffs. Modeling of random and non-random traffic variations. Simulation modeling of post offices and dispatch centers. New postal services.
