Course description: Development of integral and interoperable solutions of intelligent transport systems. Platforms for complex sensor, communication and control systems. Modelling of complex systems using advanced tools. Control of real time constraints. Access and interface protocols. Full traffic management by integrating different ITS subsystems (road traffic control, pre-trip and on-trip information, incident management, emergency service, automatic toll collection, ramp metering). Dynamic network models. Examples of road urban traffic control. ITS security applications. Human monitoring of automated ITS solutions. Evaluation of efficiency, costs and benefits of ITS applications. Examples of planning and implementation of various ITS solutions. Analysis of successful examples of realization of ITS applications. Examples of solving interoperability problems. Managing the life cycle of ITS applications. Collecting and maintaining the ITS knowledge corpus.
