Course description: The concept and general features of telecommunications services and information transmission technologies. Classification and systematization of telecommunications services. Traffic-technological evaluation of different transmission modes: channel, packet, frame, cell. Functional requirements for classical and multi-service telecommunications networks. Teletraffic and services of various telecommunication networks (classical telephone, mobile cellular, and Internet). Measuring, modeling and traffic planning in traditional (classical) and multi-service networks. Traffic routing in a circuit- and packet-switched networks. Quality of Service (QoS) requirements and parameters. Quality assurance mechanisms for services in traditional and multi-service networks. Predicting the relationship between requirements, capacity, and performance for different traffic flows and different networks. Customer service and customer care. Call center technological processes. Basic approaches and methods of charging for telecommunication services.
