Course description: Basic concepts of simulations. Models and simulations, applying simulation models for different modes of transport. Random numbers: random number tables, random number generators, pseudorandom numbers. Simulation languages and simulation software. Service systems and queue theory: historical approach, service system, theoretical basis, theoretical calculation. Client waiting and service discipline. Transport network modeling. Preparation and collection of input data for simulation. Determining the data distribution functions required for simulations. Microscopic, macroscopic and megascopic simulations. Software packages: CORSIM, HCS, Synchro, Sim Traffic, VISSIM / VISUM, TRANSYT. Examples and tasks of using QSB plus and MatLAB software: capacity simulations, transport flows, simulations and optimization of traffic signalization, communication protocols, logistics chains, simulation and analysis of transport processes.
