Course description: The role of traffic medicine in the safe flow of traffic. Basics of anatomy and physiology of organs and locomotor system. Characteristics and division of traffic accidents: shock, traffic injuries - mechanical, chemical, physical and thermal, open and closed. Mechanism of traffic injuries, antisepsis and asepsis, crush and blast syndrome. Primary wound dressing, immobilization. Examination, resuscitation, death types, Heimlich grip, electroconversion, drowning. Ecology, man in the ergonomic system, causes of errors, psychological state (distriction, wrong expectations, level of alertness, light, night vision, operative thinking, operative memory, illusions, hallucinations), influence of fatigue on traffic safety, stress. Electromagnetic radiation, protection, dangers, electric current. Environmental impact, noise, vibration, environmental pollution - toxicity. Negative habits and addictions - drugs and alcoholism .. Weight gain, smoking. Diabetes mellitus, epilepsy, tumors. Chronic diseases that endanger traffic safety. Travel-related infectious diseases. Occupations with special working conditions, performance of pilots and divers. Transport emergency medical organization.
