Course description: Introduction and overview of the development of computer networks and the Internet. Network access. Network core. Layered architecture and service models (OSI, TCP/IP). Application layer (Web, HTTP, FTP, DNS i SMTP). Transportation layer (TCP i UDP). Congestion control principles. Network layer and routing. Routing principles. Internet protocol IP. Data layer and local computer networks. Multi-access protocols. Ethernet. Performance of computer networks. Active and passive network devices. Wireless and mobile networks. Multimedia networking. Real-time interactive application protocols. Security in Computer Networks. Network management.
