Course description: Basic concepts of simulations. Models and simulations, application of traffic simulations for different modes of traffic.
Random numbers: Random number tables, Random number generators, pseudorandom numbers. Simulation-implementation methodology.
Subversion systems and queue theory: historical approach, serving system, theoretical underpinnings, theoretical calculation.
Client waiting and serving discipline. Transport network modeling. Preparation and collection of data for simulation. Determining
the data distribution function required for simulations. Microscopic and macroscopic simulations. Monte Carlo simulation.
Software packages: Riverbed, VISSIM/VISUM, PathPlanner Airside, Matlab etc. Examples and tasks using software packages for
the design of capacity simulation, traffic flows, simulation and optimization of traffic light signaling, communication protocols,
logistics chains, traffic simulation and analysis process.
