Course description: General concepts of loading/unloading and transhipment technologies in ships. Sizing space for loading/unloading and transhipment operations in ships. Basic ship sizes. Distribution of cargo on loading/unloading ships. Technology of loading/unloading and transhipment of general cargoes, bulk cargoes, liquid cargoes, containers. The technology of loading, unloading and transhipment of dangerous goods in ships (in accordance with IMDG regulations). Cargo loading/unloading technology in Ro-Ro ships. Defining and determining quantity of cargo on board. Ship and port documentation related to loading/unloading and transhipment of goods into ships.
