Course description: Introduction to the area of artificial intelligence. Fuzzy logic and fuzzy control systems (with application in Railways). Advanced train and traffic control systems. Application of expert systems in train and traffic control processes. Introduction to genetic algorithms. Railway timetable rescheduling by application of genetic algorithms. Introduction to Neural Networks. Railway intelligent transportation systems (RITS). Anticipated rail traffic management systems.
