Course description: Theoretical basics of radionavigation: definitions, parameters, propagation of radio waves in real conditions, frequency spectrum, reception, transmission and signal processing, modulation procedures, antennas. Basics of radiogoniometry and radiolocation, procedures and devices (VDF, NDB / ADF, VOR / DME, TACAN / VORTAC). Low-frequency radio navigation (LORAN-C, OMEGA / VLF, DECCA). Satellite Navigation (GPS). Approach and landing devices and systems (ILS, MLS, D-GPS / WAAS). Radar navigation, ground and aeronautical radars. Area navigation (R-NAV / P-RNAV), principles, applications, connection to FDS, AFCS and EFIS systems.
