Course description: Basic concepts of water transport system, subjects and characteristics. Definition and classification of traffic models. Classic system approach and descriptive statistics. System formalized description of structure and process. W. Wymore's methodology. The role of the water transport system in the national, economic and transport systems. The importance and management of the water transport system. Horizontal and vertical structure. Maritime and inland waterway transport. Port subsystem and shipping subsystem. Shipbuilding subsystem and other subsystems. Functional specification. Universe and couplings structures, states and transitions structures. Goodness measures and dynamic system optimization.
