Course description: Systematization and standardization of aircraft electrical systems. Static electricity, DC and AC current. Electrical circuit
elements. Semiconductors and logic circuits. Aircraft batteries. AC and DC generators: construction, principle of operation,
classification. Generator control and protection systems. External, auxiliary and critical power sources. Aircraft power converters:
rectifiers, inverters, converters, transformers. Power grid elements and organization: conductors, switching, control and
protection equipment and systems. Aircraft power loads: DC and AC motors and actuators. Miscellaneous load systems: lighting
and annunciators, ventilation and air conditioning; rain, icing and fire protection systems; fuel ignition systems. New system
designs and future road maps.
