David Gerhardinger, coordinator of aviation accident expert assessments at the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences, commented for Croatian media on the aircraft accident near Medulin.
He explained that it is still too early to determine the exact cause of the accident, as the investigation first requires the collection and analysis of evidence. This includes the examination of the aircraft wreckage, documentation, flight plan, radar and ADS-B records, as well as communication between the pilot and air traffic control.

Gerhardinger also commented on the fact that there was no explosion upon impact, noting that this may indicate a possible fuel-related issue, a lack of fuel in the tanks, or the nature of the impact itself. He emphasized that the final cause can only be established after a detailed investigation.
