Following the recent aircraft accident near Vrsar, David Gerhardinger from the Department of Aeronautics, Faculty of Transport and Traffic<\/a> Sciences, provided expert commentary for the media<\/a>, explaining the basic characteristics of a gyrocopter and the key aspects that are usually considered in the analysis of such accidents.In his statement, Gerhardinger clarified that a gyrocopter is a specific type of light aircraft whose rotor is not powered in the same way as that of a helicopter.<\/p>\n\t\t\n<\/div>\n

Instead, the rotor rotates due to airflow during flight, while forward motion is typically provided by a propeller.
