The project leader is the\nFaculty of Geodesy of the University of Zagreb and the other partners are the\nFaculty of Organization and Informatics, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and\nComputing, Faculty of Agriculture and Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb,\nAegean University (Panepistimio Aigaiou, Greece), and Delft University of\nTechnology (Netherlands). The leader of the project by the Faculty of Traffic\nScience is Asst. prof. Miroslav Vujic from the Department of Intelligent\nTransport Systems.\n\n\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe\nproject &#8220;Twinning Open Data Operational&#8221; (TODO) aims to leverage the\ninterdisciplinary scientific excellence and innovation capacity of the\nUniversity of Zagreb (UNIZG) in the field of open data to boost the supply and\nuse of open government data in Croatia and beyond. Open data initiatives have\nresulted in greater availability of data, thereby realizing ambitions such as\nimproved efficiency and effectiveness of public services, increased\ntransparency, accountability and citizen participation, and economic and social\nvalue creation. Open data research is a crucial component in creating and\naccelerating sustainable and innovative open data ecosystems. However, open\ndata and open data research in Croatia are still in its infancy. With the\nsupport of key organizations in the Croatian open data ecosystem and esteemed\nnational and international experts, TODO will enhance the research capacity and\nresearch excellence in open data research of UNIZG and its staff through the partnership\nwith two leading universities in the open data domain, University of the Aegean\n(UAEGEAN) and Delft University of Technology (TUDELFT). TODO will develop and\nimplement an interdisciplinary multi-domain open data research approach to\nincrease the maturity of the concept and impact of the open data ecosystem in\nCroatia and beyond. The activities directed at training, knowledge exchange,\ncollaboration, outreach and long-term sustainability should establish an\ninternationally leading open data research ecosystem at the UNIZG. Through\nresearch, TODO will explore the gaps between supply and demand of open data and\nbuild understanding of an open data ecosystem in Croatia.
