{"id":1315,"date":"2019-07-19T07:43:02","date_gmt":"2019-07-19T06:43:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.fpz.unizg.hr\/zits\/?p=1315"},"modified":"2019-07-19T10:01:04","modified_gmt":"2019-07-19T09:01:04","slug":"visit-of-the-faculty-of-traffic-sciences-to-company-gideon-brothers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fpz.unizg.hr\/zits\/?p=1315","title":{"rendered":"Visit of the Faculty of Traffic Sciences to company Gideon Brothers"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>One of the key goals of the Faculty of\nTransport and Traffic Science is that through interactive collaboration with\ncompanies students gain important competence before going to the labor market\nwhere they need to provide the necessary knowledge and skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On July 10, Assistants at the Faculty of\nTraffic Sciences Dominik Cvetek, Leo Ti\u0161ljari\u0107 and Tomislav Erdeli\u0107 and a\nstudent of the 3rd year undergraduate study of Logistics Filip Buturi\u0107 visited\nGideon Brothers, a Croatian company for robotics and artificial intelligence,\nwhose product Cobot (Collaborative robot) is a robot that works with people.\nIts application lies precisely in logistics by automating warehouse processes\nin the 3 leading Croatian multinational companies Atlantic Grupa, Orbico and\nToki\u0107.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Daniel Guja, leader of the Semantic Engine\nteam at Gideon Brothers, welcomed our colleagues and presented detailed\ndevelopment projects they work on. At Founders Forum in Longon, Gideon Brothers\nwas declared as best European startup company for the artificial intelligence. The\ncompany has already become a &#8220;magnet-company&#8221; for domestic and\noverseas investors and opens the door to the global market. It is a great\nopportunity for our students to collaborate or employment because the company\nwill need new engineers to grow as a company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gideon&#8217;s product is an autonomous logistic\nrobot that can carry 800 kilograms of cargo. Designed so that it can safely\nmaneuver around people, equipment and other mobile machines. Robot\u2019s autonomy\nis based on visual perception, combining deep learning technology with stereo\ncameras. Gideon&#8217;s technology for navigation, data security, and data capture\nexceeds other standard robotic systems currently offered on the market. Only\ntwo other suppliers of autonomous logistics robots in the world are currently\ndeveloping autonomous technology based on visual perception. However, Gideon&#8217;s\ntechnology goes further than the competition &#8211; it&#8217;s the only autonomous mobile\nrobot that understands its environment, recognizes objects in it, and their\ncontext. Thanks to this, the robot works consistently in highly dynamic\nwarehouses and production plants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another feature that is unique to Gideon\nBrothers is the battery system that allows replacement during operation without\na shutdown, so the loss of time for charging is minimized. The robot requires\nminimal intervention in the warehouse: a pallet box, from which the robot can\npick up cargo and deliver it on pallets, and the battery charger.
