As a part of ”Open Data\nDays”, which were organized in cooperation Code for Croatia and GONG, and in\npartnership with the H2020 Project \u2018\u2019Twinning Open Data Operational \u2013 TODO\u2019\u2019,\nheld a virtual conference entitled ”Social useful open technologies: How have\ndisasters digitized us and what’s next?” The following two days, the\nVirtual Weekend Hackathon was organized where interdisciplinary teams worked on\nopen public sector data and created new, socially useful products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The panel entitled “How\ncan open data help the community?”<\/strong> brought together scientists\ninvolved in the Horizon2020 project “Twinning Open Data Operational –\nTODO” and non-institutional users of open data, who shared their\nexperiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our PhD cand. Bia Mand\u017euka\nalso participated in the panel with a review on the topic “Open data in\nthe field of traffic and transport – Personalized multimodal journey\nplanners”.<\/strong> She pointed out that open and accessible data in traffic\nand transportation are a valuable resource for scientific research and concrete\ndigital solutions that will shape our future in urban areas. According to the\nEU directive, each member state establishes its own National Access Point – a\nsingle access point based on open data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also, she pointed out the\nimportance of an interdisciplinary approach through Horizon2020 project\n“Twinning Open Data Operational – TODO” and Interreg project ”Coordination\nmechanisms for a multimodal cross-border traveller information network based on\nOJP for Danube Region – OJP4Danube”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
