The SIGMA360 project team has completed the development of the project’s web repository application, which will be used to host 360° video materials and provide public download links for test video content, subjective quality ratings, and related research data. The repository is currently prepared as a technical platform, while video materials will be added after the recording and processing activities begin.
A New Digital Infrastructure for SIGMA360
The SIGMA360 project team has successfully completed the development of the project’s web repository application. The repository is integrated within the official SIGMA360 project website and represents an important technical foundation for the future publication, organization, and sharing of project research materials.
The repository has been designed as a dedicated web-based platform for hosting and managing 360° video content created within the project. Its main purpose is to support the long-term availability of test video sequences that will be used in research on immersive video quality, user experience, and accessibility.
Once the project enters the recording and video processing phases, the repository will be populated with original and systematically degraded 360° video materials. These materials will be prepared for quality assessment studies and later made available for research, testing, benchmarking, and comparison of video quality assessment methods.
In addition to video content, the repository will also be used to publish related research data. This may include metadata, descriptions of test sequences, experimental information, and subjective quality ratings collected from participants, such as Mean Opinion Score (MOS) values and other relevant evaluation results.
Access Through User Accounts
Access to the SIGMA360 repository is available only after creating a user account. This approach enables the project team to manage access to repository resources in a structured way, while still supporting the broader goal of making project outputs available to interested users, researchers, and professionals.
At this stage, the repository does not yet contain video materials. This is expected, as the project’s recording, processing, and subjective testing activities will be carried out in later phases. The completed application therefore represents a prepared technical environment that will gradually be filled with content as the project progresses.
Supporting Open and Reproducible Research
The repository will play an important role in supporting open and reproducible research in the field of immersive multimedia quality assessment. By providing organized access to test video content and accompanying data, SIGMA360 aims to support future studies, model development, validation procedures, and comparison of results across the research community.
