Among the inspiring student stories connected with this year’s UniSport Finals is that of Matej Rebić, a student of the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences and a cadet at the Croatian Defence Academy “Dr. Franjo Tuđman”.
Rebić is currently studying Aeronautics – Military Pilot , while also continuing a successful sporting path in wrestling. With national team experience and a number of notable domestic and international results, wrestling has played an important role in shaping his discipline, perseverance and character.
His story is a strong example of how academic education, high-level sport and military training can complement one another. Through wrestling, Rebić has developed dedication, resilience, discipline and the ability to overcome challenges — qualities that form an important foundation for his future military career.
He chose the Aeronautics – Military Pilot module because, as he points out, it has been his dream since childhood. The pilot profession requires concentration, composure, physical readiness and decisiveness, and Rebić emphasizes that years of wrestling have prepared him for the demands of his studies, military training and future career as a pilot.
