
Members of the Department of Information and Communication Traffic took part in two international conferences in Stará Lesná, Slovakia (8–10 October 2025):

The activity was successfully carried out at the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences, University of Zagreb, within the Department for Information and Communication Traffic, 14 – 16 October 2025.

At the University of Bahrain, an invited lecture on the iRAP – International Road Assessment Programme was held, jointly presented by Assoc. Prof. Marko Ševrović, PhD, Bojan Jovanović, PhD (Senior Assistant at the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences), and Juraj Leonard Vertlberg, MSc Traff. Eng. The lecture emphasized the importance of international standards in assessing road infrastructure safety and highlighted the potential for collaboration between the University of Zagreb and University of Bahrain.

As a visiting researcher, Nikola Topić univ . mag. ing. traff., a recently graduated student from the Department of Intelligent Transport Systems, held a presentation in the company Rimac Technology regarding the application of the state-of-the-art CARLA-SUMO co-simulation framework for analyzing the impact of self-driving cars (autonomous vehicles) on traffic flows.

As a visiting researcher, Nikola Topić, univ. mag. ing. traff. recently graduated student from the Department of Intelligent Transport Systems held seminars in the School of Computer Science and Statistics at Trinity College Dublin regarding the application of the state-of-the-art CARLA-SUMO co-simulation framework for analyzing the impact of self-driving cars (autonomous vehicles) on traffic flows.

Mijo Šarčević, Ph.D. held two lectures for undergraduate and graduate students specializing in Information and Communication Traffic. The first lecture, titled Planning, building, and maintaining secure IT infrastructure, was held on May 19, 2025.

First-year students in the graduate program of Road Transport at the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences, conducted a study on risky behaviours of Trnava level crossing users on April 3, 2025. They also examined trespassers who illegally crossed the railway line from the Trnava stop to the Maksimir stop, located near the University Campus Borongaj.

As part of the implementation of the Croatian Quantum Communication Infrastructure project, a webinar titled: "QCI Network Architecture - QCI Nodes, Quantum Building Blocks, and Optical Fibers" will be held on February 28, 2025, at 10:00 AM on the SRCE e-learning platform.
