Basic information about the Department

Overview

The Department of Intelligent Transportation Systems is one of the departments at the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences.

The Department was established by a decision of the Faculty Council in 2001. It is the successor of the ITS Research Center at the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences, which was founded in 1999. The first Head of the Department was Prof. Ivan Bošnjak, Ph.D. At the Faculty Council meeting held on November 12, 2008, the Department’s structure was confirmed, and the current Head of the Department and the heads of the chairs were appointed. Currently, the Head of the Department of Intelligent Transportation Systems is Assoc. Prof. Pero Škrorput, Ph.D.

Department mission

The Department of Intelligent Transportation Systems is an academic and research-development unit of the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences, University of Zagreb, dedicated to creating, transferring, and applying knowledge in the field of intelligent transportation systems and related technologies.

Department vision

The Department of Intelligent Transportation Systems aims to become a regional center of excellence for education, research, and development in the field of intelligent transportation systems and related technologies, fully integrated into the European network of similar organizations.
