Course description:
Quality Management is divided into four main areas. The first area gives historical overview of the development of quality, important definitions and concepts, including distinctions between manufacturing and service industries. The second area presents four step assessment processes to help organization determine where it stands in quality. Furthermore, the third area explains structure in the form of three quality processes. The forth area covers process management, strategy, organization and its culture. Throughout all areas statistical concepts are included to supplement the managerial concepts. All lectures and exercises include real life tasks that require from students to face the realities that managers, engineers, operational personnel, users and others involved in the quality function are confronted with in their everyday duties.
