Organized by the Department of Aeronautics, Croatia Control and Croatia Airlines, the 3rd Steering Committee (SC3) of the Knowledge Alliance in Air Transport (KAAT) Erasmus+ KA2 project was held in the Faculty of Transport Sciences and Croatia Control from 13 to 14 December. The meeting was attended by partners from European universities and aerospace companies participating in the KAAT project.

Considerable issues were raised regarding the establishment of new study programs and the agreed dynamics of future co-operation in the development of human resources in aviation sector. The meeting was also an opportunity for a better acquaintance with partners from the academia and industry. As part of the SC3 activity, Croatia Control was presented, where during the working visit the participants could get acquainted with the operational way of implementing the ATCO training and their work in the area control center (ACC).

On Wednesday, December 12, 2018, a ceremony marking the 27th anniversary of the founding of the Croatian Air Force (HRZ) was held at the 93. Air Force Base in Zemunik near Zadar.
The ceremony was attended by the delegation of the President of the Republic of Croatia and the supreme commander of the Croatian Armed Forces and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia and Defense Minister Damir Krstičević, Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Croatia, General Mirko Šundov, and Commander of HRZ Brigadier General Mato Mikić,
As part of the ceremony the Aeronautical Division of the Faculty of Traffic and Transport Sciences received a HRZ Acknowledgment of Achievement for competent, professional and committed support in the education of Croatian pilots. “You make a difference today for our aviation in the future”, says in the charter.
At the ceremony, the Acknowledgment of Achievement was presented to the Dean Prof. Tomislav Josip Mlinarić and Head of Aeronautical Division Prof. Doris Novak.

At the Department of Aeronautics, the education of Croatian Air Force officers was carried out in the period from 26th to 30th November 2018. The programme featured the following topics: introduction to safety, safety management, reporting and emergency situations.
This is the second such course designed by the Department of Aeronautics for the needs of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Croatia and is an example of excellent co-operation on education in the area of common interest.
