Personal identification number (OIB)

OIB (osobni identifikacijski broj) or Personal Identification Number is a number used for identifying natural and legal persons in the Republic of Croatia. Incoming students (Erasmus+ and CEEPUS) and teaching staff (CEEPUS only) are required to apply for the assignment of a personal identification number. The number is issued by the Croatian Tax Authority and is required for enrolment and/or opening a local bank account.

Foreign nationals can request an OIB in two ways:

  1. A visit to the Tax Administration Office or
  2. The Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences can apply for your OIB

If you would like the Faculty to request the OIB for you, please fill out, sign, scan and send the following documents to mobility@fpz.hr at least two weeks before your arrival:

  1. Power of attorney (doc – enable comments in MS Word)
  2. OIB request form (pdf)
  3. Copy of passport (or ID if you are an EU citizen)

The OIB number is issued only once and is valid for all future visits!
