
The University of Zagreb Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences officially launched the implementation of the project "Professional Practice for the Active Career Development of the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences – SPARK FPZ" on 19 June 2026. The project is funded by the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) under the Efficient Human Resources 2021–2027 Programme. The project will be implemented over a period of 36 months, until 19 June 2029.
The total value of the project amounts to EUR 270,609.90, of which EUR 265,197.70 is provided as non-repayable funding. The project is co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus (85%) and the State Budget of the Republic of Croatia (15%).
The Project Manager is Associate Professor Ivan Grgurević, PhD. The project will be implemented by a multidisciplinary project team consisting of academic staff, employees of the Office for Professional Practice and Career Development, and other professional staff members of the Faculty.
The main objective of the project is to enhance the quality of professional practice within the study programmes of the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences while further strengthening the Faculty's capacity to develop and implement high-quality professional practice models. The project includes the further development of the Office for Professional Practice and Career Development, the evaluation of professional practice, the introduction of new digital tools, and the stronger involvement of employers and alumni in shaping the content and learning outcomes of professional practice.
Through the implementation of the project, students will be provided with enhanced opportunities to acquire practical knowledge and professional competencies during their studies, strengthen cooperation between the Faculty and industry, and improve their employability upon graduation. Furthermore, the project will contribute to the further improvement of the system for organising and monitoring professional practice at the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences, ensuring a sustainable long-term model that strengthens the connection between higher education, alumni, and the labour market.
