The Republic of Croatia recognized the importance of the European Quantum Infrastructure (EuroQCI) initiative and in 2019 signed the Declaration on the European Quantum Communication Infrastructure, committing itself to the implementation of activities to build a secure quantum communication infrastructure that will cover the entire European Union. As a first step on this path, the CroQCI consortium was formed.
CroQCI consortium consists of key research and scientific institutions, institutions of higher education, public institutions and public companies authorized by the Ministry of Science and Education for the development of the national QCI network and the preparation and implementation of the national project Croatian quantum communication infrastructure - CroQCI.
The project proposal Croatian quantum communication infrastructure - CroQCI was prepared and applied for the call DIGITAL-2021-QCI-01-DEPLOY-NATIONAL published within the Digital Europe program and was approved for financing.
The holder or coordinator of the project is the Croatian Academic and Research Network - CARNET.
In addition to funds from the Digital Europe program, the CroQCI project will also be financed through the investments of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan 2021-2016.
