Special admission quotas

General terms of enrollment have been published as part of Call for applications to 1st year undergraduate, integrated undergraduate, graduate, and undergraduate professional studies in the academic year 2023/2024, point 5.

Special admission quota for Croats outside of Croatia in the academic year 2023/2024 is 6 students.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

A completed 4-year high school program and proficiency in the Croatian language since the study program is delivered exclusively in Croatian (a minimum of CERF B2).

The applications are submitted by completing the form “Application for enrollment in the 1st year of undergraduate studies in the academic year 2023/2024 under the quota for (select quota)” available at the bottom of the page with the certified copies of the documents listed on the form attached.

The diplomas of the candidates who have completed their education outside the Republic of Croatia must be recognized by a competent authority (Education and Teacher Training Agency or Agency for Vocational Education and Training - depending on the type of secondary education completed).

FIELDS OF STUDY AND RANKING:

The ranking list of candidates registered for each study program is created as follows:

For the study programs: TRANSPORT and INTELIGENT TRANSPORT SYSTEMS AND LOGISTICS

  1. based on high school success, by dividing the sum of all grades by their total number and multiplying the average by 100. The grades of the applicants evaluated based on a grading system different from the one used in the Republic of Croatia (from 2 to 5) will be transferred to the Croatian system for the enrollment process.
    The maximum number of points is 500.
  2. based on additional student achievement
    ranking within the first three on a state-level competition in Mathematics, Physics, or subjects in the field of transport – maximum number of points.

For the study program AERONAUTICS (Concentrations: civilian pilot, air traffic controller)

  1. based on high school success, by dividing the sum of all grades by their total number and multiplying the average by 100. The grades of the applicants evaluated based on a grading system different from the one used in the Republic of Croatia (from 2 to 5) will be transferred to the Croatian system for the enrollment process.
    The maximum number of points is 500.
  2. based on specific abilities test**
    • physical eligibility criteria (medical examination)
    • oral English language proficiency test.

** Specific abilities test is an ELIMINATORY CONDITION FOR ENROLLMENT (the Specific Abilities Test Application available at the Faculty website must be completed and submitted to the Students administration office together with the Application for enrollment in the 1st year)

Medical examination for civilian pilots and air traffic controllers is done at their own expense at one of the authorized aero-medical centers for performing medical examinations of aviation personnel.

The list of certified aero-medical centers (AeMC) is continuously updated on the HACZ website (https://www.ccaa.hr/file/1636d8b2c9ab6db4ed9ce13af906314a3f62)

Certificate of medical fitness must be submitted to the Student administration office no later than 14 July 2023.

An oral exam in English language proficiency is also conducted before the enrollment in the study program, according to the candidates" applications, at their own expense, and according to the schedule published by the Faculty. The test is conducted by English language professors from the Department of Aeronautics who specialize in the field of radio-telephone communication. The exam tests the candidate"s general language proficiency and specifically comprehension and speaking skills.

  1. based on additional student achievement
    ranking within the first three on a state-level competition in Mathematics – maximum number of points.

 

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

Applications are submitted to the Student administration office through email at: referada@fpz.unizg.hr

  • for summer enrollment period - until 14 July 2023
  • for fall enrollment period (if there are free spots) - until 15 September 2023.

The applicant must attach the certified copies of the following documents to the application:

  1. Certificate of affiliation to the Croatian people issued by the Central State Office for Croats outside the Republic of Croatia (Pantovčak 258, 10000 Zagreb, ured@hrvatiizvanrh.hrhttp://www.hrvatiizvanrh.hr/hr)
  2. Proof of citizenship the candidate is applying under (a certified copy of the passport if he/she does not have an OIB)
  3. high school transcripts for all four years
  4. secondary education diploma
  5. Opinion on the evaluation of a foreign educational qualification, which must be submitted no later than the enrollment. (In case the Opinion is not available at that point, the applicant is accepted with conditions until the Opinion is delivered.)

The ranking list with the results of the admissions procedure will be published on the Faculty website on 17 July 2023, and on 18 September 2023 for the fall enrollment period.

Appeals to the admission decision can be submitted in writing through email (referada@fpz.unizg.hr) for summer enrollment period until 18 July 2023 by noon; for fall enrollment period by 19 September 2023 by noon.

Enrollment: 19 July 2023, in the fall enrollment period: 20 September 2023.

The accepted applicants must complete the enrollment forms available at the bottom of the website of the respective study program.

UNIVERSITY GRADUATE STUDIES

Special enrollment quota has been approved for the Ukrainian citizens under temporary protection in Croatia in the academic year 2023/2024.

The right to enroll as a full-time student under the special quota is extended to persons from Ukraine under Temporary Protection in the Republic of Croatia who are able to acquire or have already acquired the Opinion on the evaluation of a foreign educational qualification of the required level.

The applications of such candidates will be accepted in the same way and in the same periods as the Croatian and EU, but a separate ranking list will be published for them. (https://www.fpz.unizg.hr/hr/studiji-i-upisi/diplomski-studij)

Enrollment quota: 12 (Transport – 5 students, ITSL – 5 students, Aeronautics – 2 students)

The applicant must attach the certified copies of the following documents to the application:

  • Temporary protection certificate issued by the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Croatia
  • Proof of citizenship the candidate is applying under (a certified copy of the passport if he/she does not have an OIB)
  • Opinion on the evaluation of a foreign educational qualification
  • Certificate of proficiency in Croatian-B2 or proof of enrollment into Croatian language course.

Documents issued in a foreign language must be translated by a certified court interpreter.
