Before you is the new issue of our expert supplement “Applied Research Topics in Transport and Logistics”, a publication issued bilingually alongside the prestigious scientific journal Promet – Traffic&Transportation.
The expert supplement “Applied Research Topics in Transport and Logistics” covers topics targeted at interest groups within the transport and logistics sector. It is published and designed to foster communication and correlation between science and industry, focusing on bringing scientific practices and achievements closer to the business sector.
This issue is dedicated to traffic education for children and the role of continuous traffic education in building a culture of traffic safety.
As part of the National Road Safety Programme of the Republic of Croatia, activities are being carried out with the aim of ensuring safer participation of children in traffic.
The implementation of these activities involves institutions, schools, experts and organisations which, through their work, contribute to the development of traffic education. In the following pages, you can read their reflections and experiences related to the introduction of traffic education into the primary school system, a systematic approach to child safety in traffic, the development of traffic culture, preventive activities and opportunities for further improving traffic education for children both within and outside the formal education system.
We are particularly pleased that the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences organised Children’s Day, an event dedicated to traffic education, about which you can read towards the end of this issue.
