First-year students in the graduate program of Road Transport at the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences, conducted a study on risky behaviours of Trnava level crossing users on April 3, 2025. They also examined trespassers who illegally crossed the railway line from the Trnava stop to the Maksimir stop, located near the University Campus Borongaj.
This research was part of the "Modeling and Planning in Road Transport" course. The students were guided in their research by Professor Danijela Baric and Assistant Silvestar Grabusic, who commended the students for their diligent, responsible, and professional approach to the study.
Through this research, Professor Danijela Baric incorporated her students into a broader project titled "Research on the Causes and Consequences of Risky Driving Across Level Crossings and a Proposal for Measures to Prevent Traffic Accidents and Collisions with Barriers and Half-Barriers" allowing the students to contribute to important national-level research through their coursework. This project is part of the National Road Safety Plan of the Republic of Croatia of the Ministry of the Interior.
Well done to the students!
The results of the research and proposed prevention measures will be published soon.
