DirtyFOOT project kick off meeting kicked off on 17th December 2025

The DirtyFOOT Erasmus+ project officially kicked off on 17th December 2025. Led by Karadeniz Technical University (Türkiye), the project aims to raise awareness of the impact of maritime activities on the water footprint by educating vocational higher-education students through innovative learning approaches.

Successful Completion of the Study Visit on the Practical Implementation of the NIS2 Directive in Accordance with Provisions for Postal Activities under the New Law on Information Security

The activity was successfully carried out at the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences, University of Zagreb, within the Department for Information and Communication Traffic, 14 – 16 October 2025. The study visit was organized at the request and for the needs of the Ministry of Economic Development of Montenegro, with financial support from the European Commission – DG Enlargement and Eastern Neighborhood, Institution Building Unit (TAIEX). The program included a series of presentations focused on professional training and knowledge exchange, as well as a field visit to Croatian Post (Hrvatska pošta)

At the University of Bahrain, an invited lecture on the iRAP – International Road Assessment Programme was held, jointly presented by Assoc. Prof. Marko Ševrović, PhD, Bojan Jovanović, PhD (Senior Assistant at the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences), and Juraj Leonard Vertlberg, MSc Traff. Eng. The lecture emphasized the importance of international standards in assessing road infrastructure safety and highlighted the potential for collaboration between the University of Zagreb and University of Bahrain.

As a visiting researcher, Nikola Topić univ . mag. ing. traff., a recently graduated student from the Department of Intelligent Transport Systems, held a presentation in the company Rimac Technology regarding the application of the state-of-the-art CARLA-SUMO co-simulation framework for analyzing the impact of self-driving cars (autonomous vehicles) on traffic flows.

As part of the Erasmus+ project EuroS@P NWRSA (Network Wide Road Safety Assessment), Bojan Jovanović, Ph.D, from the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences, participated in the international conference GAMBIT 2025, held in Gdańsk, Poland. The conference brought together European experts in the fields of road safety, infrastructure, and traffic management, with the second day of the event focusing on road infrastructure safety within the framework of the EuroS@P NWRSA project.

Over the course of these two days, visitors had the opportunity to explore our laboratories, learn about ongoing projects, and discover opportunities for study and professional development within the Department of Information and Communication Traffic.
